The anecdote on the set of ‘Mission Impossible 8′ that proves Tom Cruise is just as tough in real life as he is in fiction
Hayley Atwell shares a behind-the-scenes moment proving Cruise’s toughness extends beyond the screen.
With ’Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two’ nearing its release, excitement is building for Tom Cruise’s final outing as Ethan Hunt. The film has already received an 88% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
During filming, Hayley Atwell revealed an amusing anecdote about Cruise’s love for extreme spice. In an interview with IMDb, she shared that a restaurant had to specially prepare an ultra-spicy sauce because their usual seasonings weren’t strong enough for him. According to Atwell, the custom blend “blew his mind” but was delicious.
Actors fully immersed in their roles
Atwell also admitted to stealing small props from the set to help her get into character as Grace, a professional thief. Among the items she took were:
- Salt and pepper shakers from the train set
- A watch and a necklace
- A USB drive and a key
- A jar of Cruise’s special hot sauce
While her method acting approach was unconventional, it added to the intensity and realism of her performance.
