The Batman 2 already has a start date for filming, but we’ll still have to wait
The next film will arrive five and a half years after the original.

After several delays, one of DC Studios’ Batman-related projects will finally have a filming date. According to a recent financial report, The Batman 2, Matt Reeves’ film starring Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, will begin filming in 2026.
The information comes from a recent Warner Bros. financial report, which mentions that The Batman 2 is “preparing to begin shooting next spring,” and is expected to arrive in 2027, with a release date currently scheduled for October 1, 2027. This means that filming will begin four years after the release of the first installment.

More Batman on the way
More content from the “Batman Epic Crime Saga,” as this part of the Dark Knight is known, is also in the works. According to the same financial report, and following the success of a successful Season 1, it is suggested that The Penguin Season 2 is also already in development. “The 10-year vision for the DC universe also includes an exciting array of television projects, including The Penguin...”
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, plans indicate that Reeves is planning a Batman trilogy, but with a five-and-a-half-year wait between the first and second films, it sounds like the third film could take even longer.
Now, it is important to remember that this “Batman Epic Crime Saga” is separate from the current DC Studios universe led by James Gunn and Peter Safran. It should be noted that the first Batman film in that universe, The Brave and the Bold, directed by Andy Muschetti, will feature a new Batman, leaving Pattinson out of the picture.
