Update:

The Big Bang Theory universe continues to expand. The hit TV show, created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, aired from 2007 to 2019 and followed a group of physicists living in Pasadena, California, and their day-to-day lives. After the series ended, the first spin-off, Young Sheldon, was launched, focusing on the childhood of Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) in Texas. Following its success, the producers introduced another spin-off, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, centered on Sheldon’s older brother.

Now, the creators of The Big Bang Theory are developing yet another spin-off — this time focusing on Stuart, the comic book store owner often seen in the original series. The show will be titled Stuart Fails to Save the Universe and will follow the character on a wild journey to restore reality after accidentally breaking a new device built by Sheldon and Leonard, triggering a multiversal armageddon. The project is set to debut later this year on HBO Max.

Will characters from The Big Bang Theory appear?

According to the official synopsis from HBO Max:“Comic book store owner Stuart Bloom (Sussman) who is tasked with restoring reality, aided by his girlfriend Denise (Lauren Lapkus), geologist friend Bert (Brian Posehn), and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie).”

As with the previous spin-offs, these supporting characters are expected to take center stage, replacing Leonard, Sheldon, Penny, and the rest of the original gang.
