The big change that ‘The Rings of Power’ is preparing for Season 3 from the hands of ‘The Crown’ or ‘Stranger Things’
The Lord of the Rings series on Prime Video secures its future with several high-profile signings.
‘The Rings of Power’ has just finished its second season, but fans can rejoice as a third season has been confirmed, and to dispel any doubts about their quest to keep improving in the interest of offering a product at the height of Tolkien’s work, its showrunners have set their sights on new writers to join Prime Video’s Lord of the Rings series.
The most prominent of the new additions is Jonathan Wilson, writer of ‘The Crown’, one of Netflix’s most acclaimed series. He is followed by Ben Tagoe (‘Lucky Man’, ‘Coronation Street’) and Guiff Jones, who has been promoted from assistant to head writer. In addition, some of the most prominent signings from the second season will return for the third, such as Justin Doble (‘Stranger Things’, ‘Cloverfield’).
As far as the premiere date of Season 3 of ‘The Rings of Power’ is concerned, there is still nothing confirmed. A few months ago, The Hollywood Reporter commented that production will begin in early 2025, so its premiere points to the end of the same year in the best case scenario, although it seems more reasonable to think in 2026.
