‘The Boys’ Season 4 post-credits scene tease the return of a Super that threathens Homelander himself
The very last scene of Season 4 of The Boys has revealed a huge clue about what to expect when the series return for its finale.
‘The Boys’, the popular superhero franchise by Prime Video based on the comics of the same name by Garth Ennis, premiered its Season 4 finale after eight episodes loaded with action, gore, blood, bad decisions, and its usual hooligan and sarcastic tone at the hands of such famous characters as Butcher, Homelander, Deep, Starlight, Hughie, A-Train and many others. And as we’ve come to expect from it, the last seconds of the season have shown a post-credits scene (or rather, a few of them) that teases what is to come in the fifth and final season, putting Homelander himself in check. We warn of spoilers starting in the next paragraph.
“Super” family problems
After The Boys are hunted down at the hands of different Supers under the orders of Homelander -except for Butcher who seems to escape by getting lost on the road -, the credits of the last episode begin; an episode, by the way, that has officially changed its title after the assassination attempt on former president Trump of the same week for its parallels of its plot with reality once again surpassing fiction. Be that as it may, in the middle of the credits there is a most revealing scene that previews what is to come in the fifth and final season of ‘The Boys’.
In it, we see Homelander(Antony Starr) accessing a secret room alongside the new president of the United States, in which there is a cryogenics chamber; Before we see who is still asleep there, we can already imagine their identity… It’s Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), a character who had a great role in the third season and who seems set to return for the fifth and final season to turn Homelander’s universe upside down.
And after appearing in the form of a dream cameo in the spin-off ‘Gen V’, Soldier Boy will surely be key to the outcome of the series after being neutralized by Maeve at the end of season three and secretly put into cryogenics. Let’s not forget that Soldier Boy is the father of the Patriot and, in turn, the grandfather of an already unleashed Ryan after escaping from the hands of Butcher. All of this anticipates a “Super” family reunion that can end in complete chaos, giving rise to a truly bloody and stark outcome for ‘The Boys’.
