This past weekend we had the unfortunate news of the death of the 27-year-old actor, Chance Perdomo, known for his role as Andre Anderson in ‘Gen V’, the successful spin-off of ‘The Boys’ that we enjoyed this past fall. His co-stars have been sharing messages on social mediaever since lamenting his passing and remembering him with great affection.

“Remembering my beloved friend and cast mate, Chance Perdomo, whose passing has left a profound void in my heart,” posted Lizzie Broadway (Emma in ‘Gen V’). “Chance possessed so many interpersonal gifts that I treasured deeply. He was a vital part of my growth as an individual, his gentle spirit lifting me up when I needed it most. To me, he was and always will be my superhero. I am in shock and grieving his loss deeply. Rest in peace, dear chance. You will forever hold a special place in my heart. Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight in ‘The Boys’, responded to Broadway’s message by sending her a “big hug”.

Obviously she was not the only one, as Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of the legendary Arnold- and who plays Luke, Andre’s personal friend, also wanted to remember his friend. “This hurts. A lot,” Patrick posted on Twitter/X. “What a young talented actor, and a great friend - gone way too soon. Was a pleasure to work with him in GenV. RIP Chance.”

Sean Patrick Thomas, who plays Andre’s father in the series, also responded by posting these words on Instagram. “Chance. Blinding intellect. Encyclopedic knowledge of hip hop. Raw talent. You were destined to make yourself unforgettable in this world, and in a brief time you achieved it. You ran your race with style my man. I’ll miss our long talks friend.”

What will happen with the second season of ‘Gen V’?

As expected, filming of the second season of ‘Gen V’ has been delayed indefinitely, as reported by Deadline. The cast was about to meet to read the scripts together before Perdomo’s passing, plans that have been disrupted in the worst way possible. Now, the priority of the team of producers and scriptwriters is to give the cast and the rest of the staff time to recover from the blow, and then continue with work, having two options: either rewrite the script completely dispensing with Perdomo’s character, or hire another actor to replace him.
