The cinematographer for ‘The Legend of Zelda’ movie shares a new image of Link with the Master Sword
Gyula Pados celebrates the end of filming with a look at the protagonist’s full outfit.

Filming for the highly anticipated ‘The Legend of Zelda’ movie has wrapped, and to celebrate, cinematographer Gyula Pados has posted a new image that’s causing a stir on social media. The image shows the clapperboard used during filming, which features an illustration of Link in full gear, armed with a shield and holding the Master Sword in his right hand.
Shortly after posting it on Instagram, Pados ended up deleting it from his profile, which seems to suggest that he had shared something he shouldn’t have. This move has sparked a lot of speculation among users, who believe the image may have shown Link’s final design in the movie, which appears to be heavily inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. On the other hand, it’s important to note that the clapperboard didn’t feature the film’s logo, but rather the word “Umami,” which could be the project’s code name.

Link is finally making the leap to the big screen
This isn’t the first time Pados has worked on a major fantasy production. In the past, he served as director of photography on ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ and the last two installments of ‘Maze Runner,’ both directed by Wes Ball, the director of the ‘The Legend of Zelda’ feature film.

Filming for the movie starring Link and Zelda, played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Bo Bragason, began last November and took place in New Zealand, at many of the same locations where Peter Jackson filmed ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. The film is scheduled to premiere on May 7, 2027, and, according to rumors, it could be the first in a trilogy of films. Will it live up to fans’ expectations?
