‘The Creator’, one of the best sci-fi movies of 2023, gets a release date on Hulu

‘The Creator’, a story about a war between humans and AI starring John David Washington that has been considered one of the best releases of the year, just got a release date on streaming platforms.

The Creator

After its premiere in theaters on September 29, 2023, ‘The Creator’ now has a release date on streaming platforms, more specifically on Hulu (and Disney+). Described in our review as “one of the greatest science fiction films of this century”, seems like a perfect plan to enjoy the end of the year while watching it at home.

Release date of ‘The Creator’ on Hulu

‘The Creator’ is landing on Hulu for the US and Canada on December 20, with a global release on Disney+ starting in different regions from the 17th onwards. The film lasts 133 minutes (that is, 2 hours and 13 minutes) and has a score of 6 on FilmAffinity. In it, we are told a common story in the genre (and no less contemporary for that reason): the war between humans and artificial intelligences, and a living weapon that is at the moral crux of the story.

This is how the director of MeriStation, Roberto Hernández, praised the production:

“If we take out the ‘Nolan factor’ out of the equation, ‘The Creator’ could very well pass as the greatest science fiction film of the 21st century. It has all the ingredients to succeed: a good story, balance between action and quiet moments, it addresses problems that concern society right now, has a good professional at the helm and its actors make everything that happens believable. So that being said you can understand the little noise Disney has made about it because we are still mired in post-pandemic trauma. In other times we would have been hearing about the project for months.”

“‘The Creator’ is a great science fiction film with an interesting approach, with sufficient doses of action to satisfy the demands of this type of public and with impeccable execution. Perhaps only at the end does it stray from the path that was set for two-thirds of the film.”
