The creators of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle react to the announcement of the game on PS5: Hurray!

The new Indy adventure will arrive on Xbox consoles, PC and Game Pass on December 9, and on Sony’s machine in the spring of 2025.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the new video game from the creators of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, was originally announced as an exclusive title for the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. The purchase of Bethesda by Microsoft implied that most titles would not be coming to PlayStation 5. However, the division led by Phil Spencer has pushed a policy of multiplatform releases that has caused a stir among some members of the community. Rumors and leaks took Indy’s arrival on Sony’s console for granted, but it was at the Gamescom Opening Night Live conference that it was officially confirmed. And what do the developers at MachineGames think?

In an interview with Eurogamer, Jens Andersson (Design Director) and Axel Torvenius (Creative Director) expressed their feelings on the matter. Andersson raised his hands and shouted “Hurray!” to which Torvenius added: “From MachineGames’ point of view, we are super thrilled and excited over the fact we will be able to be on PlayStation next year as well. The more people that can play the game, the merrier,” as they will be able to see “all the passion and love” and “the hard work” that went into the project.

The British media outlet also asked if they thought it would happen, but the creative director cut them off, saying they could not comment on the decision-making process. “But it’s something we wanted to do,” Andersson interjected, “and it’s happening, so, yay [cheers again].”

A sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a completely new adventure that takes place between ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ and ‘The Temple of Doom’. Its creators have conceived it as a sequel to the first film. Therefore, the version of Indy of that time is recovered, who will travel around the world to unravel mysteries and eliminate a few Nazis on his way. The game is developed in first person (with parts in third), has platforms, puzzles and combat, more open sections, and a plot with the seal of Indiana Jones.

The new work of MachineGames will be released on December 9th on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and Game Pass. The PS5 version will be released in the spring of 2025.
