The Creel House from Stranger Things is the scariest place in Hawkins, it exists in real life, and it was a bargain
In the Netflix series, terrible things happened there, but in the real world, it is a beautiful and cozy home.
Stranger Things 5 arrives in a matter of hours, and one of the biggest draws of episodes 5, 6, 7, and 8 is finding out what happens to Vecna, the Upside Down, Hawkins, and all its inhabitants. And since we’re talking about Vecna, the great villain of the Netflix series introduced in season 4, the mere mention of his name immediately brings to mind the most terrifying place in Hawkins: the Creel House. Did you know that it exists and that its buyers got it for a very low price?
Just six years ago, the ostentatious mansion built in the 19th century was purchased for only $350,000. A really low figure for a gigantic property of this kind. Its new owners, after investing some $500,000 in renovations and refurbishments, put it back on the market for $1.5 million. Just three years ago, an interested buyer appeared who did not hesitate to purchase it, although the figures were not disclosed.

The house in question is located in Rome, a city in Floyd County, Georgia. It has 557 square meters and a second guest house. Interestingly, the attic where Max is attacked by Vecna in the fourth season of Stranger Things was unfinished, so all the elements that appear were part of the Netflix series’ set design.
