The director of ‘I, Robot’ hits back at Elon Musk’s robotic designs for being way too similar to the movie

Alex Proyas, the director of films like ‘The Crow’, ‘Dark City’, ‘I, Robot’ and ‘Knowing’, has accused Elon Musk of plagiarism for his recent designs of Tesla. The current owner of X is once again immersed in a new controversy, this time, for giving the green light to designs that seem taken from the 2004 film by the Australian filmmaker ‘I, Robot’, starring Will Smith. “Can I have my designs back please?”, the director wrote in X along with an image in which he compares different elements of his film such as robots and vehicles with the new designs presented by the technology company, Tesla.

Tesla’s reasonable similarities with ‘I, Robot’

According to Proyas, some of the robots, vehicles, and taxis presented by Elon Musk as part of the next technological projects of Tesla, have a great resemblance to those in his science fiction movie from 2004 starring Will Smith. As if that were not enough, Musk gave the name ‘We, Robot’ to his technological exhibition, which even added more fuel to the fire about his inspiration.

As can be seen in the image published by the filmmaker himself, the similarity between the film designs and the different Tesla projects is more than notable, which has caused the anger of the director of ‘I, Robot’. At the moment there is no news of possible legal actions by Proyas against Musk, although it is not the first time that the magnate has faced intellectual property allegations, especially since he is in charge of the management of X, the social network formerly known as Twitter.
