The First Descendant is a new, free to play looter-shooter releasingthis summer
Nexon has just confirmed the release date for The First Descendant, their new next-gen looter shooter that looks to compete with amazing graphics.
Destiny might want to take care, as a new contender for the looter-shooter MMO genre is approaching fast. Summer Game Fest 2024 has brought us a new and spectacular trailer for The First Descendant, Nexon’s next big bet that finally has an official release date. And it seems like we won’t have to wait for much longer, as it’ll release on July 2, 2024, free to play on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.
Once again making full use of Unreal Engine 5, The First Descendant wows with some incredibly flashy views in its newest trailer (below). As players who have tried the previous beta tests of the title, up to 4 players will be able to join forces to tear through the battlefields of this futuristic/apocalyptic game.
The First Descendant promises a long-lived experience
As is to be expected from this kind of game, The First Descendant will be a fully-fledged live-service title that will continue to release new content as time goes by. As of right now the developers have revealed that in the coming weeks they’ll reveal more about what players can expect from the game after its official release.
The game’s official description reads as follows: “The First Descendant is a free third-person cooperative action RPG shooter featuring high-quality graphics. Experience the fun of strategic boss fights through 4-player co-op and various unique characters, exciting gunplay, and looting. A variety of equipment is necessary for growth, and you can obtain them through clearing scenario missions within the game or in the World Missions where cooperation is crucial and battles with huge bosses.”
