The first details of ‘Toy Story 5’ promise to touch our hearts again
The movie already has a release date and we already know what the intro sequence looks like.

If we think of Pixar’s history, ‘Toy Story’ comes directly to mind. Andy’s toys have been part of the childhood of all those who were born in the late 90s. It’s impossible not to see ourselves reflected in those toys. There is still more to come with a fifth installment scheduled for release on June 19, 2026.
Pete Docter, chief creative officer at the studio, recently shared for attendees of Annecy International Animation Film Festival the first details of the film, along with the return of some voices that will undoubtedly be unmistakable.

Film’s most famous toys face a new problem
‘Toy Story 5′ will explore “the challenges faced by the toys in a digital-first world.” It is “Toy meets Tech,” stresses the creative in a statement collected by The Hollywood Reporter.
Bonnie Anderson is the 8-year-old who has been given the toys of a lifetime, but won’t take much notice of them because they are totally abstracted from reality thanks to Lillypad, a tablet that is their entertainment center. “Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang will confront a new generation of children more enamored with screens than playthings,” he concludes.
Apparently, the film’s intro sequence was screened for the first time. In it, a bunch of Buzz Lightyears can be seen waking up on a deserted island lost by the ocean as they try to reconnect to their “star command.” Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cussack will once again lend their voices to the film.
If you have any of the four films pending, you can find them in the Disney+ catalog.
