The first image from 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms', the new series of 'Game of Thrones'

Set before ‘Game of Thrones’ and after ‘House of the Dragon’, the fiction will adapt another novel by George RR Martin and promises a very different tone from the previous ones.

El Caballero de los Siete Reinos

There is ‘Game of Thrones’ for a while. Although the second season of ‘House of the Dragon’ has just started (here you have what time and when all the chapters premiere on Max), the platform is already working on another series based on George RR Martin’s universe. A new prequel, which will arrive in the summer of 2025, will adapt the novel ‘The Hedge Knight’ and already has a first image.

Called ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, this new series will take place 90 years before “Game of Thrones” and 70 years after “House of the Dragon”. Although the author himself has promised that “it will be much shorter” and that “it will have a very different tone”, anyone would think so after seeing the first image: will it be Dunk, his main character, who appears in it? Or maybe the little squire Egg?

The novel’s synopsis reads: “During the reign of the good King Daeron, when the kingdom is at peace and the Targaryen dynasty is at its best, young Dunk, the squire of a hedge knight, meets Egg, a boy who is much more than he seems. When they both enter the great tournament at Ashford Meadow, their past, present, and future will be put to the test.

“Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is just another in the growing list of spin-offs from George RR Martin’s saga, which includes such painfully canceled projects as the Jon Snow sequel.
