The first ‘Superman’ trailer gives us hope for the superhero
Superman will be released in July 2025.

It seems like only yesterday that the unthinkable happened. All of the Snyderverse work that had begun with ‘Man of Steel’ would be left behind to give a new creative team led by James Gunn and Peter Safran a chance. Henry Cavill’s planned return as the last son of Krypton could not happen. It’s been 2 years since then, and as it is a common practice in the comic book world, the movie starts a clean slate. A new era begins in the new DC Universe with the arrival of David Corenswet as ‘Superman’ and his first trailer, which you can see below.
The trailer doesn’t hold back and shows a lot of characters we didn’t expect to see, if only for a few seconds. From Krypto the superdog, to Hawk Girl, Guy Gardner and Lex Luthor himself. It’s a trailer that, without telling us much about the plot, shows us that, as James Gunn warned, we will already be in the middle of the action, even showing a mysterious light in the sky over Metropolis, while Superman and Louis Lane seem to have a moment. After more than a decade, having a superhero movie to kick off the universe that is not an origin story is something to be appreciated.
‘Superman’ shows a promising DC Universe
‘Superman’ is the first movie in this new DC Universe by James Gunn and Peter Safran, after erasing almost all traces of the Snyderverse, except for a few characters. David Corenswet takes over for Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel, but there will be many more changes and new DC Comics characters. Following this movie will be the second season of ‘Peacemaker’, again with John Cena, ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’, starring Milly Alcock, and ‘Lanterns’, which will be a series starring Kyle Chandler (Hal Jordan) and Aaron Pierre (John Stewart) as the two most popular human members of the Green Lantern Corps.
‘Superman’ is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on July 11, 2025.
