The first trailer for Civilization 7 delivers a clear verdict: it is still the king of strategy

Civilization 7 confirms its release date at the opening gala of Gamescom 2024.

Sid Meier is back. Civilization 7 arrives eight years after its PC predecessor. Subsequent ports to consoles and mobile devices have arrived, allowing the saga to spread to a new audience that had not yet discovered the king of 4X strategy. Its first trailer is a spectacle: the game will be released on February 11, 2025.

The Civilization franqhise, on sale on Steam

On the occasion of the big reveal of the new installment, Take Two has held a huge campaign of offers aimed at all chapters of the saga published on Steam. The juiciest ones fall on the side of Civilization 6, as it is logical.

Until September 2, you can get the base game for only $5.99, a 90% discount off the original price. The Platinum Edition, which includes the two major expansions and several additional pieces of content, is priced at $11.85. With this package, you can enjoy all the game mechanics that have arrived during the post-launch support. The rest of the DLC is dedicated to cultures that were not included in any of the expansions or the original roster.

If you’re a fan of the franchise and haven’t played yet, here’s a brief explanation of what’s new: “Civilization VI offers new ways to engage with your world: cities now physically expand across the map, active research in technology and culture unlocks new potential, and competing leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits as you race for one of five ways to achieve victory in the game”.
