The Helldivers 2 community isn’t happy about the prices for the Killzone collaboration

Helldivers 2 has just received its first-ever crossover, but while the content has fans excited, others are angry at the price of getting the new cosmetics.

A few days after winning the award for ‘Best Ongoing Game’ at the Game Awards 2024, Helldivers 2 surprised his community with the announcement of a special collaboration with Killzone. The beloved Guerrilla IP returns in the form of cosmetics within the Arrowhead Game Studios shooter, but it does so bringing with it some controversy. With less than a couple of months left until the game’s first anniversary, plenty of users are showing their disagreement with the prices of this crossover.

The new content pack based on the Helghast from Killzone, which includes completely new skins and a weapon, will arrive in the in-game store on December 23 and it will cost 1,975 Super Credits, the equivalent of about 20 dollars. Additionally, these contents will only be available for purchase for five days. As expected, it didn’t take long for the community to attack the developers over the price of this cosmetic pack, claiming that it costs almost half the price of the base game.

The crossover with Killzone 2 generates rejection due to its price of 20 dollars

Many users began to complain through social networks, and even through the official Discord of the game. On this last platform, Shams Jorjani, the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, addressed the situation by stating that the purchase of the Killzone 2 content pack is optional (premium) and that the more it sells, the more free updates can be added to the game . the response can be seen in the image above.

For his part, another user asked the company’s CEO if Sony could influence the prices of items sold in the in-game store. Jorjani answered this question clearly: “Of course (it is a collaboration), but we are the ones who have the last word in these cases. This decision is ours.”
