HONOR took a massive step toward defining the next generation of personal technology today by teasing an innovative new form factor, the HONOR ROBOT PHONE, during the Magic8 series launch event in Beijing, China. The announcement is part of the company’s broader HONOR Alpha Plan, a long-term strategy aimed at positioning the brand as a major player in AI-driven consumer technology.
According to the company, the HONOR Robot Phone represents a new category of AI hardware that goes beyond traditional smartphones. HONOR describes it as a “new species of AI device” designed to integrate robotic functionality, offering greater autonomy and interactivity than current AI-enabled phones on the market.
Focus on AI, Robotics, and Intelligent Interaction
HONOR’s philosophy traces the evolution of mobile technology from the traditional smartphone to the current generation of AI phones, and now to the fully realized ROBOT PHONE. The current Magic8 series already demonstrates this commitment by leading the evolution of self-evolving AI phones—devices that continually advance in hardware performance, system interaction, and application ecosystem through AI-driven learning capabilities. The ROBOT PHONE takes this concept further. Key elements of the device include:
- AI-powered multimodal interaction
- Robotic-level functionality and autonomy
- Advanced mobile imaging capabilities
HONOR claims this technology will pave the way for a new form of human–device interaction, where a phone can act as an intelligent companion capable of sensing and adapting to its environment and user behavior.
