The Last of Us (HBO) sweeps the 2023 Emmy Awards with more than 20 nominations

The television adaptation of the PlayStation and Naughty Dog video game triumphs alongside Succession and House of the Dragon.

We are about to enter one of the rarest eras in Hollywood entertainment. The Writers Guild of America is on strike, and not far behind, the actors’ union appears to be on the verge of joining them. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a good time to recognize the best of television this year. We are living in a golden age of television, and each of these nominations clearly shows where we are.

HBO once again proves its place with 4 of its great shows, Succession, The White Lotus, House of the Dragon and The Last of Us, being the most nominated shows this morning. The success of the television adaptation of The Last of Us is something that cannot be denied and manages to grab a total of 23 nominations.

When and what time will the 75th Emmy Awards be held?

However, it remains to be seen if this series will be the big winner of the night, as the 75th Emmy Awards will be broadcast on September 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET, although this ceremony could be postponed if the writers’ strike continues on that date.
