The Last of Us Season 2: HBO hints at changes to some character’s fates
Craig Mazin doesn’t feel limited by the events of The Last of Us Part II, hinting at changes to what happens to them, and we’re all thinking the same thing.
We have barely had time to enjoy the end of the first season and we are already thinking about the future. The Last of Us on HBO has been a true phenomenon and the fans are burning with the desire that time goes by quickly for Season 2 to get here, especially those who know the story after having played The Last of Us: Part 2. And in view of the continuation of the story in the television adaptation, Craig Mazin has surprised everyone with his words.
The co-director of the series together with Neil Druckmann (responsible for the video game franchise) has assured that neither feels “constrained by the source material”, after being asked about one of the most intense moments of the second part. Pedro Pascal, for his part, has been more prudent, although he considers that if Season 1 has been so faithful to the title, it would not make sense to deviate so much in the second...

The statements by Craig Mazin and Pedro Pascal have made us all think the same thing. Because how could it be otherwise, if we talk about a possible change in the fate of the characters, Joel automatically comes to mind, since he dies in the first few minutes of the second game at the hands of Abby, the daughter of the surgeon who was about to operate on Ellie when Joel bursts into the operating room and kills almost every Firefly that comes out in his path at the hospital.
In any case, we will have to wait and see what happens, although not as much as perhaps we imagined since Pedro Pascal suggested last month that filming The Last of Us Season 2 could start this year.
