The Last Ronin, TMNT’s most ambitious game yet, gets its first teaser

The darkest story in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles repertoire, The Last Ronin, just got a first teaser for its God of War-inspired game, and it’s awesome.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is now a reality, having been announced by THQ Nordic for a release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The game is being developed by Black Forest Games, and aims to be the most ambitious game in the history of the popular franchise yet. And those are some big shoes to fill since these amphibians have become accustomed to having titles of great quality decade after decade.

THQ Nordic themselves commented the following about the game: “Who is the last Ronin? In a future, battle-ravaged New York City, a lone surviving Turtle embarks on a seemingly hopeless mission seeking justice for the family he lost. From the minds of the creators of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and based on the best-selling comic book event by Eastman, Waltz, Bishop, Delgado, and the Escorza Brothers: the official video game adaptation of TMNT: The Last Ronin.

The Last Ronin, the most different Ninja Turtles

The darkest world of the Ninja Turtles, in which you only see one of the brothers because the others are dead. Despite the fact that there is only one character, you should be able to handle the weapons of the entire group, and it is possible that through flashbacks you may end up controlling the rest of the turtles. It is a really raw story, in a game that aims to have a single player experience through a third-person action adventure with RPG touches, inspired by the nordic saga of God of War.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are experiencing a remarkable moment, both for recent video game releases and for their return to the cinema, which has amassed some incredible criticism since its release. A universe that aims high, and that with developments like The Last Ronin raises titles for all tastes. The darkest, most adult experience the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have ever had in a video game.
