The latest controversy in Pokémon involves clothing and Team Rocket
The Pokémon Company announced a new line of apparel inspired by the franchise’s most famous villainous organization, but some users consider it criminal.
Yesterday, Team Rocket surprised all Pokémon fans by taking over the main social media channels, and to this day, they remain in complete control. This was done to promote a major campaign that, in addition to reminding us never to let our guard down against one of the great antagonists of the franchise, also promotes a new line of products themed around this criminal organization.
A collection that arrives at the speed of light
As we mentioned earlier, The Pokemon Company unveiled the Team Rocket HQ Apparel Capsule Collection on June 14. This line features a variety of apparel with the iconic red “R” printed on a wide range of clothing options, from shorts, shirts, socks, hats, and even hoodies. There is a little bit of everything to proudly wear the vibes of the franchise’s first villains. Some of them are shown below:
You can find the collection in the Pokémon Center store website, where you can choose from a wide variety of models and clothing.
...but with some “villainous” prizes
However, some members of the community have expressed disappointment with this collection, saying that these items are overpriced considering some of the “simpler” looks of their designs. On social media, some users have commented that the prices are high for the simplicity of the product, or that the color choices in some products (such as a black jacket with a black logo) suggest that The Pokémon Company “missed the mark” with some of the designs.
But do you think the prices are fair or high? Is there a design that you liked or that you, like people on social media, think is too basic? Let us know in the comments, and remember to follow Meristation USA for more Pokémon news.
