The latest ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ trailer brings back the bold and adventurous Goku of old

Written by Akira Toriyama before his passing, Dragon Ball Daima is bringing back some of the style of the old Dragon Ball series, and this new trailer shows how.

Dragon Ball Daima

2024 has been a sad year for fans of manga and anime. Akira Toriyama, the famous author behind ‘Dragon Ball’, Dr. Slump, and Sand Land, passed away last March at 68 years of age, just as the fortieth anniversary of the saga starring Goku and his friends started. Before passing, the mangaka wrote the entire story of ‘Dragon Ball Daima’, a new anime series that takes up the adventurous spirit of the original Goku. Just over a month before its premiere, Toei Animation has published the main trailer for the series, which can be seen below.

On this occasion, all the protagonists undergo an unexpected change: they abandon their adult bodies and become children again, at least in appearance. Unlike ‘Dragon Ball GT’, a series in which Pilaf summons the dragon and mistakenly requests that Goku be transformed into a child, In this production everyone reduces their size: Goku, Vegeta, Krillin, Piccolo... and although Bulma is radiant because she is young again, the warriors must face a new threat. The anime will include new combat and reintroduce Goku’s magic staff, his infallible childhood weapon.
