The latest in Pokémon GO is not available to everyone: This is the new GO Pass and who will be able to enjoy it
Pokémon GO is launching the GO Pass, a new rewards system with free and paid options, but not all players will have access to it.

In an effort to stay fresh and innovative, Pokémon GO has implemented a new change, but not all players will be able to access it. Starting today, April 1, Niantic’s augmented reality game is introducing the GO Pass, a limited-time progression path that will grant rewards to those who manage to progress through it.
What is the Pokémon GO Pass?
This pass works similarly to a season pass, allowing players to earn items and Pokémon by completing certain challenges throughout the month. This is not the first time this system has appeared in Pokémon GO, as it debuted in the recent GO Tour Unova under the name Tour Pass, although this time it arrives with some adjustments.
As expected, the GO Pass comes in two versions: Basic and Deluxe. The Deluxe version costs $7.99, with a $9.99 option that unlocks 10 additional ranks. This premium version offers a greater number of rewards and faster progress than the free option.
When will GO Pass be available?
The GO Pass will be available from Tuesday, April 1, at 10 a.m. until Tuesday, May 6, at 10 a.m. local time. As with Pokémon GO events, the rewards will expire over time. Therefore, they must be claimed by 10 a.m. local time on May, May 8, at 10:00 a.m.
Who can access the GO Pass?
One of the questions that Pokémon GO players have been asking is which regions have access to the GO Pass. This has caused some confusion, as Niantic posted on their blog that “Trainers in certain regions will automatically receive GO Pass” without listing the available regions.
However, posts on Reddit suggest that Niantic is running an A/B test, which would explain the lack of clarity around availability, with users having different experiences despite being in the same region. In addition, sites such as Leek Duck have noted differences in GO Pass rewards by region, including encounter types, items, stickers, and PokéCoins at different levels of the Pass.
