The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom unveils a special use for one of its new mechanics

Little by little, we’re discovering everything that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has ready for us from May 12 on Nintendo Switch. This time, Nintendo themselves have revealed some new information about Ascend, one of the new mechanics that the sequel to Breath of the Wild will include. We knew that it would allow us to shortcut between two solid positions on top of Link, but it seems like it’ll have other uses as well.

According to the details published on the official Nintendo website, Ascend will also allow us to go through “certain enemies to create seemingly impossible shortcuts”. There are no actual examples of this that complement the text, except for the previously shown actions of going through the roof and even a hill. The possibilities are vast.

A trailer that thrills everyone

On April 13, Nintendo published the third and final trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Until its launch, we will not see a single new piece of the game, and this seems to be because the team led by Aonuma wants to keep the surprises of one of the biggest games of 2023.

The trailer, which you can see in this link, speaks for itself. The legendary series transcends the screen by showing off all of its gameplay updates, including a vast map of floating islands above Hyrule. Although in this article we talk about Ascend, other mechanics such as crafting are being added to the sequel.

Remember that Link’s adventure is only one of the expected releases for Nintendo Switch this year. To those that have already been released, like Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, Metroid Prime Remastered, and Fire Emblem Engage, others are soon to be added, like Pikmin 4, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, and Fantasy Life: The Girl Who Steals Time, all of them set to launch in the coming months.
