The list of the most wishlisted games on Steam has completely changed in the last stretch of the year

2024 has been one incredible year for games. While we’ve had some disappointing launches and a few delays, we’ve seen release after release breaking expectations and become “the biggest thing” of the moment. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Black Myth: Wukong, and many more are among the biggest premieres. But as the year progresses and games get released, gamers are always looking for their next adventure to jump into. And as such, new titles rise to the top of the charts.

So what does the list of most wishlisted games look like on Steam? Well, it’s changed quite a bit.

The 10 most wishlisted games on Steam

Below is what the list looks like today, on October 8, 2024:

At the top of the chart is Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds, the next entry into their incredibly successful multiplayer hunting game. It’s easy to see why, even though the game still doesn’t have a set release other than 2025, as we’ve already had the chance to try out the game for ourselves and came out of the experience thirsty for more.

Curiously, Valve’s own Deadlock is standing proud in second place. The shooter/MOBA hybrid took the industry by surprise by basically being an open secret for months before the company acknowledged its existence. And even when it did, no marketing efforts have been made to make it known. It is only by word of mouth that its popularity has expanded, even when it already has tons of players enjoying it daily.

So how much has the list changed? Below you can find the list as it was during August of this same year. As some of its titles released, like Space Marine 2 and Black Myth: Wukong, new titles jumped up in popularity like wildfire.
