‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ will show off more about Sauron’s story through flashbacks

The Dark Lord of ‘The Rings of Power’ will have a large part to play in Season 2 of the show, so he’s getting the spotlight too.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ is preparing for the premiere of its second season on August 29, and after the disappointment that its initial season meant for many viewers, what has been shown so far in its continuation is full of hope for that the Prime Video series is beginning to live up to the universe created by J.R.R. Tolkien.

The end of the first season revealed to us the figure of Sauron, and the Dark Lord aims to be the main protagonist of what is to come. The series will open in a powerful way with the enigmatic and evil character as described by Patrick McKay, director of the series, who spoke with Total Film about what will be the opening scene of the new season: “We open in the darkness, an orc walks in, and we see there are thousands of orcs gathered. He’s about to be crowned, pitching his vision of Middle-earth, and right before they lay the crown on his head, his right-hand man, Adar, turns it upside down, and stabs him in the back. It’s the assassination of Sauron.”

‘The Rings of Power’ and a second season with everything at stake

Adar, the mysterious leader of the orcs and villain of the first season, will be one of the protagonists of the flashback that introduces us to the new ‘The Rings of Power’. Joseph Mawle, the actor who played him, decided to leave the series and now Sam Hazeldine is in charge of giving life to a fearsome character who will have a lot to say in the series.

His actions in the flashback demonstrate Adar’s devotion to the orcs, doing what is necessary to save them from genocide, whether Sauron stands in his way or any other threat.
