Middle-earth is a magical place that has captured the imagination of its fans for many years. Peter Jackson’s films managed to transport us to this seemingly impossible place over 20 years ago. The magic continues, and after a long wait, Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for ‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim’, the first anime film inspired by the world created by Professor J.R.R. Tolkien, which you can watch below:

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim’ takes place nearly 200 years before the original trilogy

A few months ago, we got our first look at this version during a presentation at the famous Annecy International Animation Festival in France. During the event, attendees were given a 20-minute glimpse of this work, directed by Kenji Kamiyama, who has worked on Japanese animation classics such as ‘Jin-Roh’ and ‘Ghost in the Shell’.

Its synopsis reads:  “Set 183 years before the events chronicled in the original trilogy of films, ‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim’ tells the fate of the House of Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan. A sudden attack by Wulf, a clever and ruthless Dunlending lord seeking vengeance for the death of his father, forces Helm and his people to make a daring last stand in the ancient stronghold of the Hornburg— a mighty fortress that will later come to be known as Helm’s Deep. Finding herself in an increasingly desperate situation, Héra, the daughter of Helm, must summon the will to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy intent on their total destruction.”

‘The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim’ is one of the most anticipated movies of the year and will be released on December 13th and is known to have a running time of two hours and thirty minutes.
