Helm "Mano Martilo"

There are less than three days until the date of one of the most anticipated premieres of 2024 finally arrives. ‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim’ marks the return to the cinema of a new installment of the Tolkien universe. Something that increases the hype even more for fans of The Lord of the Rings is that it is presented in the middle of December. Something that has already happened with the rest of the films in the emblematic trilogy directed by Peter Jackson.

This new production brings us a story starring the confrontation between Helm “Hammerhand” and the army of the Dunlendings led by Wulf, who will seek revenge after the death of his father, Freca. Directed by Kenji Kamiyama, it has a total duration of 2 hours and 14 minutes and will transport us to some of the most iconic settings. Among them, once again the fortress of Helm’s Deep will play a fundamental role in the development of the plot.

Who is King Helm, Protagonist of the ‘The War of the Rohirrim’?

Helm “Hammerhand” was a legendary king of Rohan (the ninth of his line) known by all for his unquestionable bravery and imposing strength. He ruled during a time of many conflicts and faced the Dunlendings led by Wulf, who sought to avenge the death of his father, Freca. After rejecting a marriage alliance proposed by Freca and killing him in a confrontation, Helm caused an invasion that forced his people to take refuge in Helm’s Deep. During the siege, Hammerhand stood out for going out alone at night, fighting with his fists and sowing terror among his enemies.
