The message Tom Holland wants you to take away after watching ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’: “You’re never truly alone”
The British actor is incredibly proud of Marvel’s new Spider-Man movie, which is already taking the world by storm.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is a global hit and is already breaking its first records, but for its star, the most important thing is that people understand the film’s true message. In an interview with That Grape Juice, Tom Holland made it very clear that Peter Parker’s new adventure shows that there is always hope when it comes to loneliness.
“You’re never truly alone. Even if you live alone in a big city by yourself and you feel like you have no one to turn to, you never know when your best friend, the love of your life, or your partner in crime could bump into you on the subway. And I think this movie perfectly personifies that we’re all a community. Everyone here today [at the London premiere], despite our differences, we are a community, and it’s important that we rely on one another in those times of need, because sometimes in life the bravest thing you can do is ask for help,” Holland said.
Loneliness is the central theme of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
Beyond the action and superheroes, filmmaker Daniel Cretton and Tom Holland wanted to offer something different in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day.’ The British actor’s comments on loneliness are directly reflected in the film’s main plot, where we see a Peter Parker who must face the consequences of his actions in ‘No Way Home.’
Four years after the events of the third movie, Spider-Man has grown into an adult who lives all alone in New York, in a world where he doesn’t remember who he is. However, as Tom Holland so aptly puts it, even in the worst times of our lives, we’re not really alone.
