The most loved and hated mechanic is back in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is bringing back classic features from the Budokai Tenkaichi series, and fans are delighted to find out about one specific, controller-breaking mechanic.

Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, the long awaited new entry into the Budokai Tenkaichi series of fighting games based on the various Dragon Ball anime series, is almost here. After months of teases and character reveals, Summer Game Fest 2024 finally unleashed a release date trailer, and ever since more and more details have been revealed. And among them, we’ve received confirmation of the return of a much beloved (and sometimes hated) feature.

That’s right, just as in the classic PS2 and Xbox titles that captured the attention of millions of fans, Sparking! ZERO will have clashing minigames in which players have to mash buttons or wildly move the analog sticks on your controller to win a fight when two players successfully grab each other, or when their energy attacks collide. Just like in the anime, yelling is absolutely unnecessary but highly recommended.

Fans couldn’t be more excited for the game, as we now know that it’ll release with the largest ever roster of fighters available to play as of any other Dragon Ball game. From DBZ to DBSuper, as well as DBGT and many characters more, we still don’t have a definitive number but the reveals don’t stop coming.
