Alien
The new Alien movie directed by Federico Alvarez has finished main filming, releases in 2024
The newest entry into the Alien franchise by the director of The Evil Dead and Don’t Breath is set to release next year, and they’ve just hit a big milestone in production.
Alien, one of the most popular science fiction sagas in cinematic history, has its new installment ready by the Uruguayan filmmaker Fede Alvarez, responsible for the Evil Dead remake(2013) and Don’t Breathe (2016). This was shared by the filmmaker himself through his social accounts, confirming that the new Alien movie has already completed filming, and is now starting the post-production phase for a theatrical release set for August 16, 2024.
The Alien mythos returns to the big screen
As mentioned before, this new Alien feature film is directed by Federico Alvarez, and stars Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, and David Jonsson, with the promise of returning to the origins of the saga in matters of terror and oppressive ambiance. All this after the franchise stopped almost entirely back in 2017 with the highly criticized Alien Covenant, which told us about the origins of the species. Now, Fede Alvarez intends to do justice to the failed Alien 5, following the original canons and contributing something more than what the no less controversial Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection did in the 90s
So much so, that the new Alien aims to satisfy fans who have been waiting for years and years for an Alien 5 that never materialized, recovering the personality of the first films with lethal xenomorphs stalking their victims in oppressive environments, leaving behind all the more sci-fi themes of origins of the species and large corporations.
The new Alien movie, for the moment still without any subtitle or number associated with the title, is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 16, 2024 by the hand of 20th Century Fox with the promise of offering the gore and terror inherent in the saga without Disney putting any kind of impediment in this regard.
