The new ‘Dracula’ movie is on the way, and its trailer makes it clear Luc Besson aims to live up to Bram Stoker’s legendary myth

When we talk about vampire cinema, we’re referring to some of the most acclaimed titles in film history—Nosferatu, Interview with the Vampire, Let the Right One In, and of course, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Francis Ford Coppola’s stunning adaptation of the Irish author’s gothic classic (The Godfather). It’s a subgenre of its own, often blending elements of horror, science fiction, drama, and even comedy.

Did you know there’s a new Dracula movie on the way? It’s just around the corner.

Titled Dracula: A Love Tale, this new horror drama follows a 15th-century prince who abandons his faith in God after the tragic death of his wife. Cursed to live as a vampire for centuries, he eventually meets a woman in modern-day London whose striking resemblance to his late wife leads him down a dark path of obsession.

The film is directed by Luc Besson, a key figure behind some of the most iconic action and sci-fi films of recent decades—as director of The Fifth Element and Léon: The Professional, and as writer or producer of hits like Lucy, Transporter, and Unleashed (Danny the Dog), among others.

While there’s no official U.S. release date yet for Dracula: A Love Tale, the film is set to premiere in France on July 30, followed by Mexico on August 14, and later in Russia and Germany in September and October, respectively. So fans likely won’t have to wait too long.
