Update:

Street Fighter is one of the most important video game franchises and one of the first to have a movie made about it. While the first film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia is now a cult classic, and the second, focusing on Chun-Li, is something best avoided, both lacked the full spirit of the franchise. Now, a new film has been in the works for some years, and it could be that the third time’s the charm with this latest adaptation.

Over the past few months, the first details about the cast have been slowly revealed. This afternoon, Legendary Pictures revealed all the details about the Street Fighter-inspired movie, which is set for release in October 2026. The movie will be directed by Kitao Sakurai and filmed for IMAX in a co-production between Legendary Pictures and Capcom.
