The new trailer for ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ is pure hype: ‘Star Wars’ is coming back strong in 2026
Pedro Pascal dons his Mandalorian armor once again in the new Star Wars movie.

2026 is packed with Star Wars experiences. The most obvious stop on the calendar is The Mandalorian & Grogu, the film that will bring the legendary duo to theaters after their successful run on the small screen. Its new trailer, which can be found at the top of this article, leaves no room for doubt: if you consider yourself a fan, the hype is overwhelming. It also takes the opportunity to show a new set of images of Sigourney Weaver. It will hit theaters on May 22.
Grogu and the Mandalorian return with a powerful film
Set after the fall of the Empire, during the consolidation of the New Republic, ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ places Din Djarin in a complicated position. He is no longer just a lone mercenary operating on the fringes of galactic order, but a warrior whose identity has been transformed by his almost paternal bond with Grogu. The Force-sensitive child, who abandoned his Jedi training to return to Din, now occupies a central place beyond the emotional realm: he also plays a key role in the balance of power that defines the post-Empire era.

The film presents a threat that forces both of them to venture back into deep space. Remnants of the imperial apparatus and opportunistic factions compete to fill the void left by the defeated regime, creating a climate of instability that affects both the central systems and the peripheral worlds. In this context, Din must decide to what extent to get involved in conflicts that transcend his individual survival.
The film revolves around the evolution of their relationship. Grogu, increasingly aware of his abilities and his place in the galaxy, ceases to be merely a protégé and becomes an active protagonist in the main storyline. The balance between Mandalorian tradition, Jedi legacy, and personal responsibilities creates an internal conflict that accompanies the action and adventure sequences characteristic of the saga.
