CGI dwarves, a different kind of plot and tone, and a cast that has caused a large enough amount of controversy during production: ‘Snow White’ gets a new trailer.

Rare is the live-action adaptation that Disney carries out that does not bring with it some controversy, but the new ‘Snow White’ promises to bring a lot of it. It has already done so, as its first trailer gathered ten times more dislikes on YouTube than likes (738,000 against 69,000), and the new trailer, which we can see below, is not improving the public’s first impressions.

In this new trailer, Gal Gadot makes her debut as the evil queen, with her role as Wonder Woman in James Gunn’s DCU still on the wire. But what looks to be a source of controversy until the release of the film, which has already suffered numerous delays and reshoots, is the use of CGI to recreate the seven dwarves of the forest, something that has made fans angry.

Thus, it seems that Rachel Zegler (Snow White), known for her participation in ‘The Hunger Games: A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ and both installments of ‘Shazam!’, will have to endure her own after the month of May, the release date of the film. Both she and Gadot are under the direction of Marc Webb (‘The Amazing Spider-Man’), and worked with a script by Greta Gerwig, director of ‘Barbie’.

“A live-action adaptation of the classic fairy tale about a beautiful young princess who, while harassed by a jealous queen, seeks refuge in the house of seven dwarfs in the German countryside,” the official synopsis reads. ‘Snow White’ will be released on March 21, 2025.
