The Odyssey: Christopher Nolan’s most ambitious film gets its first trailer
The teaser offers a first glimpse at Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s classic tale.

We weren’t expecting this to happen today, but like all important works, or those Greeks entering Troy, we woke up to a surprise. Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film, The Odyssey, starring Matt Damon. Without further ado, you can watch the trailer below:
The long way back home
The first teaser is short and dark, but it shows Odysseus’ determination to return home after the Trojan War. From the mythical horse they used to enter the enemy city to their adventures across the islands, we see all of this in the trailer, along with brief shots of Tom Holland as Telemachus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Odysseus’ son and wife, who await his return.
In addition to Damon’s talent, the film features Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, John Leguizamo, and more. In addition to directing, Nolan wrote the script and produced the film alongside his wife, Emma Thomas.
Nolan’s previous film, Oppenheimer, earned him a total of seven Academy Awards in 2024, and it seems that the director is not slowing down for his next film. We can only hope that between now and its release, we will see more of what is sure to become one of the most anticipated films of summer 2026.
