Update:

‘The Odyssey’ will be Christopher Nolan’s big project for next year. After showing Matt Damon as Ulysses in great detail, it’s now the turn of two other stars of the cast: Anne Hathaway and Tom Holland (among many other stars). Remember that the film will be released in theaters on July 17, 2026.

This is the first image of Penelope and Telemachus in ‘The Odyssey’.

Anna Hathaway has had the honor of playing Penelope, a key character in the story. She is the wife of Ulysses and mother of Telemachus, who has to deal with the problems of the kingdom and attempts to seize the throne while her husband is returning from his journey. The photos are part of an exclusive feature in Empire.

On the other hand, Telemachus will be played by Tom Holland. He is clearly the heir to the throne of Ithaca, the new king when his father bends the knee. At a certain point, he embarks on a journey to find news of his father, who has spent twenty years traveling and fighting wars. Without these two characters, it would be impossible to understand The Odyssey. They are essential to shaping the story in parallel with everything that Ulysses has to go through.

Considered one of the foundational works of Western literature, ‘The Odyssey’ recounts the eventful return of a famous Greek hero after the Trojan War. The poem, attributed to Homer, combines adventure, politics, and reflection in a journey that explores the limits of human endurance and divine intervention. Throughout his journey, the protagonist faces challenges that test him both physically and mentally.

At the same time, the situation in his homeland remains tense: his prolonged absence has generated uncertainty, internal disputes, and a climate of instability that threatens the continuity of the royal lineage. His family, surrounded by external pressures and difficult decisions, becomes an emotional and political counterpoint that sustains the story. This is where Penelope and Telemachus form a fundamental duo.
