Meanwhile, the premiere on Netflix itself is scheduled for December 23.

Releasing a film in theaters before it becomes available on Netflix is an unusual strategy, though it’s not the first project to receive this treatment from Ted Sarandos’s company. ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew’ was the first feature film to blaze this trail, as it will hit theaters on February 10, 2027, while premiering on Netflix two months later: on April 2 of the same year. Everything points to the platform wanting to maximize revenue from its most anticipated projects by combining the usual—albeit limited—theatrical run with subsequent exclusivity within its ecosystem as an incentive to attract subscribers.

‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’ is directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino. In addition to Brad Pitt, the film will feature a cast including Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian.
