‘The Paper,’ the spinoff of ‘The Office,’ is shown in its first trailer, ready for its premiere in September
The legacy of ‘The Office’ continues with a new series.

Over the years, fans of ‘The Office’ have wanted the series to return. After years of rumors about its return or the actors themselves talking about a reboot or spin-off, we will finally have something this year. Earlier this year, NBC announced ‘The Paper,’ a sequel set in the same universe as the series, focusing on a failing Midwestern newspaper called the Toledo Truth Teller.
The first trailer for ‘The Paper’ has been released on social media, showing a tone very similar to that of ‘The Office’ and following the same format of a team of documentary filmmakers following a new subject of study. In addition to the new characters who will bring this group dedicated to restoring the Toledo Truth Teller to its former glory, we get our first glimpse of Óscar Núñez’s character, Óscar Martínez, who seems to have landed a new job and doesn’t seem too happy to be reunited with a team of documentary filmmakers.
Along with the trailer, a new synopsis for the show has been revealed: “The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in the Emmy Award-winning series ‘The Office’ find a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it.”
Who will star in ‘The Paper’?
The series will feature Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore in the lead roles. Oscar Nunez will also return in his role as Oscar, transitioning from the paper industry to print media. Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key will also star, along with guest stars Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts.
‘The Paper’ will premiere September 4 on Peacock.
