‘The Penguin’ Colin Farrell TV show gets a new trailer, hinting at links with ‘The Batman: Part 2’
The new kingpin of Gotham is on his way, with a new trailer for ‘The Penguin’ showing the darkness that smothers the city.
San Diego Comic-Con has shown the official trailer for ‘The Penguin’, the DC Studios series with Colin Farrell as the protagonist and playing the character he gave life to in ‘The Batman’, with Robert Pattinson as the titular hero. The series will premiere on September 19th on Max, with a total of eight episodes that will be released weekly.
The series will show us Farrell in the role of Oz Cobb, known as The Penguin, one of Batman’s oldest enemies who is known as a crime lord of Gotham. The series will continue what was shown in ‘The Batman’, one of the darkest films about the superhero that was a huge box office success, and will connect with the long-awaited ‘The Batman 2′, which will be released in a still distant October 2, 2026.
DC Studios and the Elseworlds universe of The Batman
DC is preparing for a moment of change with James Gunn and his Superman movie as the stone on which to begin building a whole new universe. Within the company, ‘The Batman’ remains independent like ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’, being able to offer products completely separate from the new DCU and continue betting on enormously successful works that did not fit into Gunn’s idea.
The ‘Penguin’ series has Lauren LeFranc as showrunner, and has a cast that includes Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz as Victor Aguilar, and Michael Kelly in the role of Johnny Viti among other big names.
