Prime Video

The promise of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' has Middle-earth fans worried

While those behind the Prime Video series are excited about the future, there is a very clear reason why fans of the series are not reassured.

Los Anillos de Poder Sauron

The Rings of Power’, the Lord of the Rings series on Prime Video, is not having an easy time, as some have been particularly hard on it, and while there is no official viewership data, there is nothing to suggest that the numbers are as positive as those of The Dragon House, Stranger Things, or Fallout, among other successful series. The show’s creators are optimistic about the future, but fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s work are concerned about the lack of news about the show.

J.D. Payne (producer) and Patrick McKay (writer) have commented that they are “excited” about the future and that they and their team are “working tirelessly” on Season 3 of ‘The Rings of Power’ and that what’s coming is “really good”. On paper, everything is going smoothly, but there’s one problem that has fans on edge: it’s been a few months since the second season premiered, and Amazon has yet to officially renew the next one.

Time will tell if Season 3 of ‘The Rings of Power’ is finally officially announced, so if you haven’t gotten into Amazon’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ series yet, don’t forget that both the first and second seasons are available in full on Prime Video.
