The reason why MrBeast can’t run for President in the US elections: “I’m not just gonna stand by and do nothing”
MrBeast is known for his philanthropy, using the money he makes to do things the government won’t. Should he be president?
Jimmy Donaldson, known worldwide as MrBeast, has made waves on YouTube for his philanthropy, creativity, and ambitious projects. Earlier this year, however, he sparked conversations beyond the platform by hinting at an interest in running for the highest office in the United States. But despite his commitment to impact-driven initiatives, there’s one big hurdle: he’s too young.
MrBeast and the requirements to become President of the United States
In the United States, presidential candidates must be at least 35 years old. At 26, MrBeast falls short of this requirement. Earlier this year, he tweeted his thoughts on the matter, stating, “I’m not just gonna stand by and do nothing”—a sentiment reflecting his eagerness to address societal issues on a broader scale.
However, he is aware that he does not meet the minimum age requirement to run for the highest office in the United States government.
While some view his political aspirations as a surprising turn, others see it as a natural extension of his philanthropic vision. His YouTube endeavors, from planting millions of trees to providing substantial donations to those in need, showcase a drive for tangible change. However, the age restriction remains a constitutional barrier.
A controversial year for MrBeast
Although rumors have surfaced in previous years about the real person who may be the famous YouTuber, 2024 has not been a good year for MrBeast. In recent months, MrBeast has been in the eye of the storm with a series of controversies surrounding the people around him as well as some of his methods.. Most recently, he was accused by fellow YouTuber Rosanna Pansino, who sent alleged messages from MrBeast’s work team to the FBI. These “work chats from 2020 to 2021... with former MrBeast employees” mention more “inappropriate” behavior by the YouTuber, with messages mentioning topics such as cannibalism.
But hey, at least he’ll have something fun to do this Halloween?
