Keith David confirms that ‘President Curtis’, the spin-off of ‘Rick and Morty’, will premiere later this year.

Although it was announced during the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con, ‘President Curtis,’ the spin-off of 'Rick and Morty’ centered on the fictional president of the same name, showed no further signs of life. However, Keith David, who voices the character, has confirmed that this new animated series will premiere in late 2026, marking the official arrival of a new spin-off of the popular series created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon.
‘President Curtis’, the spin-off of ‘Rick and Morty’ focused on the US president, will arrive “at the end of 2026” according to Keith David
On February 16, Keith David gave this exclusive in an interview with ScreenRant. According to the popular actor, ‘President Curtis’ is still in development and will arrive on Adult Swim at the end of the year, and will be very similar in tone and humor to ‘Rick and Morty’. Although there is no confirmed release date yet. President Curtis made his debut in the second season episode “Get Schwifty.” After this initial appearance, he became a recurring character in the series, developing a funny friendship and enmity with Rick Sánchez.

This new work is being developed by Dan Harmon and James Siciliano. Harmon co-created Rick and Morty alongside Justin Roiland, who has not been involved with the series since 2023 due to a personal scandal. Siciliano, on the other hand, began working on Rick and Morty as an assistant to the writers and rose through the ranks to his current position as a full-fledged writer. In other words, given that the creators of President Curtis are key figures in the current main series, we can expect the same high level of animation, plot, and storyline.
