The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ is preparing for the arrival of its second season, which promises to be much more intense and faithful to the original work than the first one. Many recognizable characters will be seen, but one of the most terrifying and fearsome of Middle Earth will also be in the Prime Video series.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Maxim Baldry, the actor who plays Isildur, spoke about the great danger that will lie in wait for him: “I’m awoken in a cave and I have to fight my way through Shelob to get to safety, which is an obscene way to start a season. It’s a story of survival and it’s a story about ‘be careful what you wish for. He grows from a boy into a man and has to learn who to trust and who not to trust.”

Now, it is also confirmed that Shelob will appear in the television series, which means we´ll get to see one of the most fearsome enemies of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ several thousand years before she was a great threat to Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee´s journey.

‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ will premiere its second season this August 29.
