Update:

We already knew that the second season of the live-action series One Piece would begin with Luffy’s execution, and we even knew about the villain who almost left Zoro without his legs, but now we’ve also discovered the names of all the episodes. After showing us the character who will make us all cry for the first time, Netflix has announced the title of each episode, and watch out because there are lots of clues in them:

  • Chapter 1: The Beginning of the End
  • Chapter 2: Good Whale Hunting
  • Chapter 3: Whiskey Business
  • Chapter 4: Big Trouble in Little Garden
  • Chapter 5: Wax On, Wax Off
  • Chapter 6: Nami Deerest
  • Chapter 7: Reindeer Shames
  • Chapter 8: Deer and Loathing in Drum Kingdom
The second season of ‘One Piece’ announces the names of its episodes, and they are full of clues

The first thing to note is the number of references to cinema. Chapter 5, for example (Wax On, Wax Off), is a clear nod to The Karate Kid. Meanwhile, “Whiskey Business” in Chapter 3 is a reference to Tom Cruise and the 1983 film Risky Business.

But most importantly, these names reveal how long the Straw Hats will spend on each island and how many chapters each narrative arc will span. So, it’s clear that the first will be in Loguetown, where Gol D. Roger was executed. The second will be Laboon in the Grand Line, and the third and fourth are revealed in their names, Whiskey Peak and Little Garden, respectively.

The interesting part comes with Drum Island, home to Tony Tony Chopper, which will be computer-generated. It will be the first time that a character’s introduction will take up three episodes. Not even Baratie or Arlong Park took up that much time in the previous season. It’s clear that this is the climax of this set of episodes and the reason why we won’t reach Arabasta until the third.
