The Silent Hill 2 remake shows off how bosses have changed in new comparisons
Bloober Team completely changed the combat design of certain boss encounters in the Silent Hill 2 remake, with a new video comparing it with the original.
Flesh Lips was one of the first bosses players faced in Silent Hill 2, and Bloober Team chose it to show off just how the fighting has changed in its upcoming remake (on sale October 8). Through a new gameplay video with Mateusz Lenart and Andrezej Madrzak (creative director and lead writer of the game respectively), the studio shows the enormous leap forward given in these action sequences, which we already told you about in our unexpected initial impressions with the title.
It is no longer just that the camera, controls, and artificial intelligence have changed, but also the design of the fight itself. Back in the day, when Laura tricked us and locked us up in Brookhaven Hospital, we faced off against a bunch of Flesh Lips hanging from the ceiling, but here we will only face one. And what’s more, the fight will not consist solely and exclusively of taking out the shotgun and emptying the magazine pointing upwards. Now there are more steps to follow.
First, we must aim precisely at the hands from which our enemy is hanging and, once on the ground, hit him with the metal pipe to break the cage in which he is imprisoned.
