The reign of The Sims (already looking at the fifth installment) has been overwhelming in the life simulator genre. The few competitors it had faded away in the middle of development, such as Life by You. Now it’s Krafton’s turn. The giant behind PUBG has given us an in-depth look at inZOI, the game that aims to unseat Electronic Arts’ hit. As part of Gamescom 2024, the publisher has released a free demo on Steam to test its hyper-realistic character editor in depth. It will be available until August 26th.

This is inZOI, the ambitious life simulator from the creators of PUBG

The character creator that you can access from this link goes beyond its graphics based on Unreal Engine 5. In the last part we can touch its system of traits and personality, with which they try to give players extensive tools to build the virtual person they want to be.

Its creators claim that the game was designed with one idea in mind: “Are you living the life you desire?” To fill the gaps left by real life, this game appears. In a press release, they explain one of its main mechanics, the community simulation. They promise that we will be able to “decorate more than 200 locations” while a bunch of characters show their reactions and live their lives throughout the playable area.

“Our goal with inZOI is to create a world where creativity knows no bounds, and where every choice leads to new and unexpected experiences,” says Hyungjun Kim, producer and director of the game. There is no release window yet, but the ambition for this project is boundless.
