‘The Squid Game’ Season 2 Final Trailer: The bloody return of Netflix’s most-watched series
On December 26, the second season that no one asked for and now everyone wants will hit the small screen, and the third season is already underway.
After more than three years since the premiere of ‘The Squid Game’, Netflix has everything ready for the apotheosis arrival of its second season on December 26; and this new and promising final trailer - which you can see below these lines - of the new episodes of the popular Korean fiction is the proof. Although the story that the first season told us was more than closed, its creators have managed to create a new plot that is directly connected to the first season, creating a need among the fans that no one asked for.
What is the second season of ‘The Squid Game’ all about?
Well, this first preview gives us a small glimpse of what we can expect from the new episodes of ‘The Squid Game’, introducing some characters who will have a lot to say in the deadly games that this new season will pose us, some of them completely new; and more macabre if possible. What can we expect from the plot? Your protagonist will once again risk his life to try to stop such violent games...
And some familiar faces from the first season return in the new episodes, such as Lee Jung-jae as Gi-hun, Lee Byung-hun as the leader of the dreaded event, Wi Ha-jun as Detective Hwang Jun-ho, and Gong Yoo as a recruiter of game hopefuls. They are joined by Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon and Yang Dong-geun, as well as Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won and Won Ji-an.
Its original creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, returns as director and screenwriter with the promise to return next year with a third season, which will surely start after a more than predictable cliffhanger of this second season that promises to blow our minds; though hopefully not literally.
All of this after achieving spectacular numbers in terms of hours watched, with more than 265 million plays on the platform, making it the most watched series in the history of Netflix in its first month and a half, and creating a totally unexpected fever for the universe of ‘The Squid Game.’
