Ballistic Moon
The Until Dawn remake now has a release date for PS5 and PC
PlayStation reveals upcoming changes in the Until Dawn remake through a new comparison trailer, as well as gives us a launch date on PS5 and PC
Autumn is the season chosen for the remake of Until Dawn to land on the market. Through a new comparison trailer that shows off in detail all of the main changes coming to the game with its remake, PlayStation has confirmed that the title will arrive on PS5 and PC on October 4, 2024.
Until Dawn Remake vs. the original: what changes can we expect?
The most obvious change is in the graphic detail of the game. The title is making the jump to Unreal Engine 5 to boost the quality of modeling, animations, environments, and textures. Lighting has been altered to incorporate ray tracing, something that will impact the look of the materials to create “a more atmospheric modern horror experience.” All the pieces are in place to drive the way it conveys horror to new lengths.
Ballistic Moon is the studio in charge of this “definitive edition” of the game, as PlayStation themselves describe it. The prologue has been completely redone because they felt it “needed certain adjustments to the pacing of the narrative.” New collectibles are also incorporated that are linked to unprecedented visions of the characters, along with new interactions on the stage and certain interiors that were not found in the original. PlayStation continues to promote the accessibility of its games with new options that fit more player profiles. For the ‘don’t move’ mechanic they’ve added an option for those who play with peripherals that do not incorporate the DualSense gyroscope.
Pre-orders will begin on August 21. A PlayStation Network account will be required for those playing on PC, something that is already common in the company’s latest ports.
